Frequently asked questions

You can call our reception team or book through our online patient portal, once registered.

To register for Health365, please speak with one of our friendly receptionists in person. You will need to complete a registration form so we can confirm your identity and set up your account.

No, we do not take walk-ins. If you need to see a doctor or nurse, always make an appointment first.

We do offer same-day appointments in some cases if you ned to be seen urgently. Please call us first thing in the morning, or contact us in advance to check availability.

If no same-day appointments are left, our nurses may be able to assist you or refer you to the nearest Emergency Department if required.

Recommended after-hours virtual provider: If it is after hours or one of our doctors is not available, you can access a virtual GP consultation with a real doctor via CareHQ, available 7am–10pm, 7 days a week.

Alternatively, you can attend your nearest White Cross or go to your nearest Emergency Department, or call Healthline.

Email is best for administrative queries only. For medical concerns, please book an appointment.

It is recommended that you book with your usual GP to support continuity of care. However, if no appointments are available before you need to be seen, any of our GPs can still assist you, as they all have access to your medical history and can provide appropriate care.

When your GP is on leave, another GP will usually be assigned to provide cover for their patients. You can view Health365 to see who is covering during this time, or contact our reception team if you need assistance.

Alternatively, any of our GPs are able to see you, as they all have access to your medical history and can continue your care as needed.

Blood test forms are valid for 3 months. If your GP has arranged for you to complete blood tests before your next appointment within that time, you can go ahead and have them done.

If you would like to have blood tests done without seeing a GP, you can book directly here: https://awanuigroup.co.nz/services/self-requested-testing/

Otherwise, we recommend seeing a GP first so they can determine which tests are appropriate for your health needs.

Yes, you are able to book an appointment with any of our GPs, as all of them have access to your medical history and can continue your care.

We recommend not waiting until concerns become urgent. If you find you often need to be seen sooner, you may wish to consider booking with a GP who has more frequent availability and shorter wait times, or speak with reception about which GP may best suit your needs.

No, as the funding is provided by the government, we are unable to backdate Community Services Card subsidies. Standard consultation fees will apply.

If you receive a new valid CSC and believe you may now be eligible for a refund, please view here for more details – https://www.cab.org.nz/ardarkticle/KB00001720

Yes, you can still see a GP as a casual (non-enrolled) patient. However, this will be at a visitor fee for patients who are not eligible for funded healthcare.

Yes, you will receive an email from us if we have your email address on record. Alternatively, you can contact your pharmacy after 3 business days to confirm whether your prescription is ready.
