Here Toitū: Supporting Your Health and Employment Journey

​We offer Health and Employment Support to help patients facing challenges with work due to health or well-being concerns.

Our Health and Employment Specialists can provide practical guidance, support with returning to work, and help you connect with the right services or opportunities.

​How it works

You’ll get a dedicated support network who work together to help you navigate your circumstances:

  • Job Retention Specialists: Assist you in keeping your current job or finding better-suited employment.
  • Career Development: Help you obtain relevant licenses and certificates to enhance your career prospects.
  • Holistic Support: Ongoing support for up to 12 months.

We have two specialized teams:

1. Here Toitū Standard Team

  • Who it’s for: 18-64 years old who have a work capacity medical certificate.
  • What we do: Assist you in setting realistic and manageable goals toward employment that align with your health condition. 

2. Responding Early Team

  • Who it’s for: 16-64 years old at risk of losing your job due to health reasons.
  • What we do: Provide support to help you maintain your job.

How to Book

These sessions are free of charge and can be booked through our patient portal Health365 once you are registered. Book a consult with your GP to get started.

  • The first success is completing the course, which I’m just doing my final paper now. It finishes in two weeks. The second success I would say would be even applying for the course because I didn’t feel confident enough with my skills and knowledge to feel like I could do something like this.

  • I’ve improved my health since I started. That’s probably my main one … Before I started I was spending, I would say, maybe 60% of my day in bed because I was in a lot of pain. Now, I’m a lot more mobile because I’ve gotten help… I have gotten to the point where I can function more normally.
  • We discussed my goals, what I wanted to achieve. We set goals together… We would focus on one at a time in achieving those steps.
